Job Description: The Worship Leader will be a staff member tasked with: · developing & implementing dynamic, meaningful, contemporary worship services; · leading a contemporary praise team; · providing congregational, family & community life direction, equipping people with leadership, witnessing, & life-celebration skills; · developing, overseeing, & enhancing a team-approach to ministry that empowers the church to fulfill its mission and vision.
Job Requirements/Expectations: · Formal training or experience in music ministry, worship design, & leadership. · Experience or education in music ministry, with skills in musical direction for contemporary/alternative styles. · Vocal skills required & instrumental skills preferred. · Ability to lead & work in a team; · Technical skills for working with computers, sound equipment, microphones, & presentation software.

Duties: 1. Lead the congregation in worship at the morning contemporary worship service every Sunday (excluding pre-arranged time off); provide leadership at other services & events as necessary. 2. Rehearse with the praise team on a weekly basis in preparation for Sunday worship services. 3. Prepare for worship rehearsals with the choosing of appropriate music, dissemination of music to the praise team. 4. On a weekly basis, coordinate with the teaching/preaching minister & technology team to select praise songs for Sunday morning worship. 5. Supervise/disciple/mentor/coach/equip the members of the praise team. 6. Oversee & facilitate the development of new worship leadership groups as the need for these are identified. 7. Identify gifted members who may have the desire to be a part of the praise team. Invite them to use their gifts in worship. 8. Regularly evaluate the praise team so as to keep them aligned with the church’s mission, vision, values & focus. 9. Use other God-given spiritual gifts in so much as they enhance the overall ministry & mission of the church, including, but not limited to musical composition, arranging, & recording, in order to deepen & enrich the worship experience of the congregation. 10. Carry out all ministry in the greater context of the church’s discipleship/disciple-making emphasis, providing guidance to the worship team members, & nurture the overall team health of the worship team members. 11. Attend monthly leadership meeting with elders, deacons, and ministers.
